CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel men's tennis team swept the singles portion versus Stonehill to beat the Skyhawks 6-1 on Tuesday in the second match of the day.
The Richmond Spiders shutout The Citadel in the morning match, 7-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORES
- Versus the Spiders, the Bulldogs were doubled up (3-6) at the second and third flights while Van Dyke/Hendrix fell 4-6 at 1-doubles.
- Reece Beckendorf continued his strong play, winning the most games for The Citadel at singles, 3-6, 4-6.
- In the doubles session against Stonehill, this time Hendrix / Van Dyke succeeded, making quick work of their 1-singles foes, 6-1, 6-2.
- The 3-4-5 singles matches were all tight ones as Bradey Minnich and Anthony Osipov each needed a tiebreak in their matches while Beckendorf was the lone singles match to go three sets as he outlasted his 4-singles challenger, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.
