
Bulldogs Post Multiple Program Marks at JDL Fast Track

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams opened the spring Saturday at the Mondo College Invitational, hosted at JDL Fast Track, turning in a strong showing highlighted by 10 top-10 performances in program history, two freshman records, and five top-eight overall finishes.
On the men's side, Jack O'Cain tied for second in the pole vault with a clearance of 14 feet, 7.25 inches, moving him into sixth on The Citadel's all-time indoor list. Noah Casa placed second in the unseeded 400 meters, running a personal-best 49.45 to earn the ninth-fastest time in school history.
In the throws, Ridge Dowe finished sixth overall in the weight throw with a mark of 54-0.5, while Frank Pastorino broke a long-standing freshman record, posting a toss of 47-1.5 to surpass the previous mark set in 2011. Jordan Chestnut added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 46-0.5.
Middle-distance action saw multiple all-time performances, led by Brett Cobb, who recorded a personal-best 1:24.69 in the 600 meters to rank third in school history. Ryder Harbaugh also cracked the top eight all-time, finishing the 600 in 1:27.19.
The women's team delivered several standout performances of its own, including a fourth-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay. The quartet of Caroline McClelland, Brylee Deering, Emily Brant, and Aubrey Gorin clocked a time of 10:46.61, establishing a freshman school record.
In the field events, Jadan Dean placed seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 47-5.75. Liliana Coe moved into seventh on the all-time list in the triple jump with a mark of 32-1, while Grier Murphy added a top-10 performance of her own at 28-7.
On the track, Alliann Johnson posted a personal-best 25.54 in the 200 meters, earning the fifth-fastest time in program history. In the 600 meters, Abigail Thiessen ran a personal-best 1:46.31 to rank fifth all-time, while Caroline McClelland recorded a time of 1:49.21, good for eighth in school history.
The Bulldogs return to competition to continue conference action Jan. 23–24 at VMI in Lexington, Virginia.
