TRYON, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams competed Friday at the Tryon College Banked Invitational, recording two individual wins, six top-eight finishes, and six top-10 performances in program history.
Results
Men's Highlights
- Jordan Chestnut won the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 6-8, earning the No. 5 mark all-time in program history.
- Jack O'Cain captured the pole vault title with a personal-best clearance of 15-1, also moving into the No. 5 spot all-time.
- Gage Herring recorded a personal-best time of 8.54 in the 60-meter hurdles, placing fifth overall and earning the No. 5 mark in school history.
- Ridge Dowe placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 51-9.
- Noah Casa ran a personal-best 35.36 in the 300 meters, finishing 11th and earning the No. 6 mark all-time.
- Trey Bartels placed sixth in the pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 14-1.25.
- Dylan Horne recorded a personal-best throw of 44-5.5 in the shot put, placing 11th.
Women's Highlights
- Alliann Johnson advanced to the finals of the 60 meters after running 7.75 in the preliminaries, then placed eighth in the finals with a time of 7.76.
- Johnson also recorded a personal-best 41.94 in the 300 meters, placing 11th and earning the No. 2 mark all-time in program history.
- Cameron Martin ran a personal-best 43.55 in the 300 meters, earning the No. 10 mark all-time.
- Abigail Thiessen placed eighth in the 1,000 meters with a personal-best time of 3:20.81.
The Bulldogs return to competition February 6–7 at the Carolina Classic in Columbia, South Carolina.
