Bulldogs Capture Two Event Titles at Tryon Mid-Winter Invitational

TRYON, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams turned in a strong performance at the Tryon Mid-Winter Collegiate Invitational, highlighted by two event victories, two freshman records, and four top-10 performances in program history.

Results

The Bulldogs captured two event titles and recorded multiple personal-best performances.
  • Gage Herring delivered a standout performance in the 60-meter hurdles. He ran a personal-best 8.37 in the preliminaries to qualify first overall, improving his own freshman record and earning the No. 3 mark all-time in program history. Herring followed with another personal best of 8.23 in the finals to win the event, further lowering his freshman record while maintaining the No. 3 spot all-time.
  • Jack O'Cain won the pole vault with a clearance of 15-9.
  • Trey Bartels posted a personal-best clearance of 14-3.25 in the pole vault to place eighth, earning the No. 10 mark all-time.
  • Ridge Dowe placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 54-3.25.
  • AJ Kut recorded a personal-best leap of 41-8.75 in the triple jump.
  • Langston Bailey posted a personal-best mark of 41-7.25 in the triple jump before adding another personal-best performance in the long jump with a leap of 20-5.75.
The Bulldogs return to competition Feb. 21 at the USC Invite in Columbia, S.C.
