MBB Preview: Bulldogs Travel to Furman for SoCon Matchup

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Citadel (9–20, 6–10 SoCon) travels to face Furman (18–11, 9–7 SoCon) on Wednesday night at Timmons Arena in Southern Conference play. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. The game will air on Nexstar affiliates throughout the region and will also be streamed live on ESPN+.

Wednesday's contest marks the 225th meeting between the Bulldogs and Paladins, with Furman holding a 135–89 advantage in the all-time series. Three of the last four meetings between the programs have gone to overtime.

Scouting The Citadel
The Citadel enters Wednesday's contest following a 93–72 home loss to Chattanooga on Saturday at McAlister Field House. Braxton Williams recorded career highs as a Bulldog with 26 points and 11 rebounds while connecting on five three-pointers. Christian Moore added 16 points and eight rebounds in the contest.

In the teams' first meeting on Jan. 21 in Charleston, The Citadel erased a 19-point second-half deficit to defeat Furman, 77–75, in overtime. Sola Adebisi scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting to lead the Bulldogs, while Williams added 18 points and Moore contributed 14 points, all in the second half. The 19-point rally ranks as the second-largest comeback in program history.

Through 29 games, Williams leads The Citadel in scoring at 13.6 points per game. Adebisi averages 6.1 rebounds per contest and leads the team in both blocks (27) and steals (30). Eze Wali paces the Bulldogs in assists with 68 on the season. Moore has made 58 three-pointers and is shooting a team-leading 39.0 percent from beyond the arc.

As a team, The Citadel is averaging 69.2 points per game while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three-point range.

Scouting Furman
Furman enters Wednesday's contest following a 76–67 road victory at Wofford. Asa Thomas led the Paladins with 18 points, connecting on six three-pointers, while Alex Wilkins added 15 points in the win.

Through 29 games, Furman is averaging 74.5 points per game while allowing 69.8 points per contest. The Paladins are shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from three-point range this season.

Wilkins leads Furman in scoring at 17.7 points per game. Charles Johnston averages 12.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest, and Thomas contributes 11.2 points per game.
