CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel's head volleyball coach, Dave Zelenock, announces that graduate transfer Elizabeth Miller and incoming freshman Samantha Weise will join the team for the 2026 season.

Miller, a 6-0 middle blocker from La Crescenta, Calif., played four seasons for the UC Irvine Anteaters, with her best season in 2025 when she posted 41 kills with a .216 attack percentage. Defensively, Miller recorded 39.0 total blocks, including four solo blocks and 35 block assists. She had a season-high six kills against UC Riverside and six total blocks against Lipscomb. Miller made the Dean's Honor List at UC Irvine eight times.

Elizabeth played at Village Christian High School for Brent Asuka, where she was named to the All-Time team. In 2018, her team won the Division 2 CIF State Championship. Miller was honored with the Scholar-Athlete Award and was a four-time member of the National Honor Society.

"Elizabeth brings depth and experience to our very young team. Her ability to play either in the middle or on the opposite side at a high level will be incredibly valuable to us," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "Since most of our team are freshmen and sophomores, she will be a great teammate to have, as she has been playing longer than anyone else on the team."

Weise, a 6-0 middle blocker from Hobart, Wis., played at Pulaski High School under head coach Kaitlin Skarban. During her high school career, Weise achieved a .218 hitting percentage and totaled 260 blocks. Wiese was named the 2025 team captain and Offensive Player of the Year, helping lead the team to its first regional win in over 13 years. She was named to the 2025 FRCC All-Conference First Team.

"Sam is one of those diamond-in-the-rough kids. We found her in a smaller club, and she was overlooked by many teams," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "Finding a kid who works that hard, is into the corps, and fits our team vibe is always something we get excited about."

Samantha was named the 2024 Offensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player at Pulaski, also earning a spot on the 2024 FRCC All-Conference Second Team. Weise played club for One Wisconsin, where she earned the One Wisconsin Award in 2023 and was named Defensive Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024. Samantha was named captain for the 2023, 2025, and 2026 seasons. She was also named to the 2024 AVCA All-American Watchlist and the 2025 JVA Girls' Watchlist.
