CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Citadel tennis team heads to Chattanooga for the 2026 Southern Conference Tennis Championships, a three-day tournament set for April 16-18 at the Champions Club.

The Bulldogs enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed and will open postseason play against top-seeded ETSU on Thursday at 1 p.m. The Buccaneers claimed the regular-season title after going 7-0 in Southern Conference play and bring a 19-3 overall record and a 19-match winning streak into the championship.
The two teams met in Charleston on April 8, with ETSU posting a 6-1 victory.
Ted Bagwell earned The Citadel's lone point with a three-set win in the final match on his home court.
"We're looking forward to the opportunity to compete in the conference tournament," head coach
Chuck Kriese said. "Our guys have continued to work, compete and grow throughout the season, and now the focus is on playing our best tennis when it matters most."
The winner of Thursday's match will advance to Friday's semifinal round and face the winner between No. 4 Mercer and No. 5 Furman at 2 p.m.
On the bottom half of the bracket, No. 3 Chattanooga will face No. 6 UNCG while No. 2 Samford takes on No. 7 Wofford in Thursday's remaining quarterfinal matches. Friday's semifinal matches are scheduled for 2 p.m., and the championship match is set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
