Cross Country Opens 2026 Season at Buccaneer Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams open the 2026 season Friday at the Buccaneer Open, hosted by Charleston Southern.
The men's 6K will begin at 8 a.m., while the women's team will go at 8:30 a.m.
Junior Carson Diggs leads the men's squad after finishing as The Citadel's top runner at the 2025 Southern Conference Championships.
On the women's side, junior Abigail Thiessen headlines the returning group alongside Brylee Deering, Caroline Plummer and Emily Brant.
Following the Buccaneer Open, The Citadel will return to action on Friday, Sept. 11 at the Queen City Invitational in Charlotte, N.C.
