Bulldogs Grab Fourth Overall at Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Citadel golf program closed out the final round of competition at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational on Monday morning, wrapping up the first two rounds Sunday 20-over and 42-over, respectively, before clocking a tournament-best 18-over for the last round en route to a tie for fourth overall on the team leaderboard behind an 80-over par combined mark at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

FINAL RESULTS

Individually, freshman Taryn Smoak set the tone with a strong final round, shooting par for the day for a 16-over mark and climbing 17 positions to t-13th overall. Returner Lola Barnett surged up eight spots to t-22nd after a five-over last 18, garnering 21-over for the tournament. Freshmen Piper Meredith (24-over; t-28th) and Bianka Goerke (28-over, t-35th) also each improved their positions on the individual leaderboard by eight and two, respectively, while Teryn Dalton rounded out the Bulldogs at t-43rd via 35-over

Up next, The Citadel treks north for the Elon Invitational in Burlington, N.C., facing three rounds out on the links across Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15.
