CAREER RECORD ENTERING 2013-14: 24-21

SOPHOMORE (2012-13): Competed as the starting 125-pounder in 11 of the 13 dual bouts, collecting a 6-5 record and 4-2 mark in the Southern Conference ... earned four wins by major decision and four by fall ... took third place at the All-Academy Championships ... went 5-1 at the Pembroke Classic and earned a second place finish.

REDSHIRT (2011-12): Did not compete.

FRESHMAN (2010-11): Racked up an overall record of 6-3 at 125 pounds… went 5-1 at The Citadel Open to start the season with a major decision and two pins.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered four years in wrestling and  three years in football… three-time state champion in New Mexico and four-time state finalist at Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces, N.M. ... placed fifth at NHSCA at the 119-pound weight class and had a combined high school record of 122-10.

PERSONAL: Son of Joe and Ramona Marquez… majoring in electrical engineering.
