Biography

Gerald Dixon enters his third year with The Citadel Football program after recently being promoted to cornerbacks coach. Dixon spent the last two seasons working with the defensive line and with the safeties and outside linebackers,

Dixon attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where in 2002 he earned a bachelor's degree in communications and anthropology. While at Alabama, Dixon started four years at cornerback from 1999-2002 and was a member of the 1999 SEC Championship team.  He won Freshman All-SEC Honors and All-SEC as a senior.

In 2002-03, Dixon signed and played with the Detroit Lions. In 2004, he signed with the Buffalo Bills and played with the Scottish Claymores in NFL Europe.  Gerald signed with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2005-07 winning a Grey Cup.
 
In 2007, Dixon then joined the Coral Park Miami Senior High School staff as the defensive back coach. In addition to coaching the defensive backs, Dixon coordinated the Coral Park Rams Special Teams. Dixon also taught 11th grade English and coordinated an after school peer counseling program.

Dixon is the son of Gerald Dixon and Margaret Dixon and was born Oct. 7, 1980 in Portland Cottage, Jamaica. He graduated from Paint Branch High school in Burtonsville, Md. Dixon married the former Stacia Self in January.
