2007: Must continue to improve all aspects of his defensive game... could potentially move to the outfield in the near future... could be used as a role player... offensive skills are improving everyday.

 

2006:  Red shirted, did not see game action... played for coach Kenny Wilkinson of Dixie Baseball in North Charleston with fellow Bulldog Brett Bull.

High School: Attended Bishop England High School and was a part of the 2003 and 2005 state championship baseball teams coached by Mike Darnell...was named to the all-conference team his senior year...received the Tammy Reynolds Good Sportsmanship Award.

Personal: Joey Welling...born September 30, 1986...son of Owen and Beth Welling...grandfather, Henry Kennedy, played football at The Citadel.

Major: Business Administration.
