HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Cane Bay High School … member of the baseball, football and basketball teams … led the state in strikeouts with 116 his senior year and was named to the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association Class 3A all-region and all-state teams as well as the High School Sports Report all-state team … selected as a Rawlings Atlantic Region honorable mention choice … chosen to the Post & Courier All-Lowcountry squad and received Cane Bay's Leadership Award … also named team's top pitcher, member of the All-Lowcountry team and all-region and all-state as a junior while earning a spot on the ESPN Top 10 pitchers in  South Carolina list … chosen to all-region team for Class 2A as a sophomore … participated in 2012 North/South All-Star game and 2011 Diamond Prospects Palmetto Game.

PERSONAL: Son of Steve and Shawn Wimmer … father played soccer at Gardner-Webb and East Carolina … majoring in mathematics.
