BEFORE THE CITADEL (Arkansas State): Kern spent four seasons at Arkansas State, but only used two years of eligibility … Averaged 4.0 points per game while playing in 72 contests, making eight starts … Shot 39.6% (91-of-230) from the field, including hitting on 39.2% (71-of-181) of his attempts from 3-point range … Last season as a sophomore, averaged 3.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game and was one of just four players to see action in every game, averaging 16.4 minutes per contest, making seven starts, including the first three games of the campaign … Shot 34.6% (27-of-78) from 3-point range for the season and 37.1% (39-of-105) from the field … As a redshirt freshman, was one of just six players to play in every game, averaging 17 minutes, 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.
