FRESHMAN (2016-17): Named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and was selected to the All-SoCon Third Team by the media as well as to the All-Freshman Team, making him the first Bulldog since 2007-08 to win the award … Was named to the HoopsHD.com All-Conference Team … Finished the season ranked 26th in the NCAA with 2.0 steals per game and 94th in the country as he averaged 18.1 points per game … Ranked first in the SoCon in scoring with 22.1 points per conference game and was the first freshman to lead the league in scoring since Davidson’s Stephen Curry in 2006-07 … Also ranked first in the SoCon with 2.1 steals per conference game and third with 2.9 three-pointers per league contest … Finished the season as the team’s leading scorer with 543 points (18.1 PPG) to go along with 116 assists, 60 steals and 94 rebounds despite sitting out three games due to an illness … His 543 points ranks eighth in a single season in program history and broke an eight-year-old freshman record … Led The Citadel in scoring 15 times, including seven of the last eight games, and posted 22 games in double figures and 15 games with at least 20 points … Tied for fifth-most in program history with three 30-point games … Tied for sixth most in program history for three-point field goals made in a season with 77 … Finished eight steals shy of the single-season program record … Shattered seven Bulldog freshman records, including points scored (543), scoring average (18.1), field goals made (185), field goals attempted (456), three-point field goals attempted (234), free throws made (96) and steals (60) … Made at least four three-pointers in nine games, had 10 games with at least five assists and had seven games with three or more steals ... Posted his 12th 20-point game against Mercer and finished one assist shy of a double-double ... Broke The Citadel’s freshman scoring record on Feb. 22 with 19 points against Western Carolina ... Dropped 37 points, the sixth-most in program history in a single game, at Samford on Feb. 25, going 9-for-11 from the free throw line and grabbing eight boards … Scored 27 points and went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe to lead the Dogs to a 78-72 win in the first round of SoCon Tournament ... Capped off his freshman campaign with his eighth straight double-digit scoring game, chipping in 12 points against UNCG.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played under head coach Reggie Choplin at Wade Hampton High School … Became his high school's all-time leading scorer as a senior, finishing his career with 1,596 points … Also set school records for points in a season with 556 and points in a single game by pouring in 43 points in a performance that included nine three-pointers vs. Region-2 rival J.L. Mann … Was named a two-time South Carolina 4A All-State selection and took home 2016 Greenville County Player of the Year honors … Averaged 23.1 points and five assists while shooting 76 percent from the free throw line and 40 percent from beyond the arc as a senior … Lettered in all four years at Wade Hampton and recorded more than 20 points per game in back-to-back seasons to close out his career … Earned a spot on the South Carolina All-Star team which allowed him to compete in the Carolinas Classic against North Carolina … Honor roll member.
