SENIOR (2019): Appeared in 33 singles matches and 30 doubles matchups … Notched eight singles wins and seven wins in doubles action … Ended his collegiate career with 46 singles wins … Won four of five matches at No. 1 singles from January 23 – February 3, including a 6-4, 6-4 win over Georgia Tech’s Andrew Li (1/23/19).

JUNIOR (2018): Appeared in 38 singles matches and 20 doubles matches … Recorded 15 singles wins and four doubles victories … Kicked off his junior campaign with back-to-back victories over Florida A&M’s Illya Skoromnyy and Walner Espinoza … Won five straight matches in the span of two days on from February 2–3 … Defeated Chattanooga’s Cooper Long (2/23) 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 for his first Southern Conference victory of the season … Bested Samford’s Austin Heinz (3/14) 7-5, 6-2 at home for his second SoCon win of the campaign … Won four straight singles matches from March 10 to March 17, all in straight sets … In doubles action, claimed back-to-back wins with Will Graham and Trey Davis on February 3.

SOPHOMORE (2017): In his second collegiate season, posted a 13-25 record in singles action, the second-most wins on the team in 2017 … Had five wins each at No. 4 and No.5 singles … Earned his first win on the year without dropping a point at No. 6 singles over Spartanburg Methodist’s Clayton Hernandez (6-0, 6-0) on Feb. 5 … That win propelled him to three in a row and four of five through Feb. 11 … Also won three matches in a row from Feb. 26 through Feb. 27 … Didn’t drop a set in his first nine victories and only gave up one point in the three victories on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 … Ended the season with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Alabama Huntsville’s Timo Christen at No. 5 singles … In doubles action, won three matches on the year, all with Matthew Henson, including an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles over USC Sumter’s D. Ramirez-Zuluaga and Ephriam Utley … He and Henson ended the campaign with an 8-4 win over UAH’s Noah Pring and Brodie Holmes.

FRESHMAN (2016): Recorded fifth highest singles win total (10) … Played two matches as the team’s No. 3 and five as No. 4 … Won first collegiate match (7-5, 6-0) on Jan. 30 over Austin Green (Spartanburg Methodist)) … Won five of six matches from Feb. 6 to Feb. 13 … Defeated (6-4, 7-5) James Flynn (UNCG) in first SoCon match on Mar. 8 … Earned win (6-3, 6-1) in final regular season match on Apr. 16 against Gibril Kinani (USC Sumter) … Competed in six doubles matches … Won lone match (8-0) with teammate Nicholas Bradley on Apr. 16 over Gibril Kinani and Alex Skoler (USC Sumter).

HIGH SCHOOL: Played USTA and ITF tournaments for three years … Earned third place in the Carolina Karting Challenge in 2011.

PERSONAL: Son of Cheryl and Morne Hobson … Father was a collegiate and pro tennis player while his mother was an international swimmer for Zimbabwe … Major is mechanical engineering.
