Biography

2010: Started in all 65 games in the outfield, 62 of which were in left field... named to the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team after batting .429 (6-for-14) with five runs, three stolen bases and a walk in the tournament... racked up 16 multiple-hit games, eight multiple-run games and five multiple-RBI games... batted .285 with 43 runs, 67 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, 10 walks, 25 RBI and a pair of homers... fourth on the team in runs scored and tied for second-most triples... led the team with 15 hit by pitches... 11-for-12 in stolen bases... set career-highs in hits, runs, RBI, walks and stolen bases in a game... had a season-long six-game hitting streak from 5/22 to 6/4... hit safely in eight of the first nine games of the season.... best game was vs. Radford (2/28) when he went 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI and a homer... went 3-for-5 with a career-high four runs and three RBI with a homer at Elon (3/20)... the following day went 3-for-4 with two runs against the Phoenix to help the Bulldogs complete their first-ever sweep at Elon... in the series opener vs. Appalachian State (3/26), tied career high in hits, going 4-for-5 with a run, two RBI and a double in a 13-2 win by the Bulldogs... went 2-for-4 with three runs and a walk at Wofford (4/3)... went 2-for-5 with two runs vs. College of Charleston (4/20)... went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI and was hit by a pitch twice vs. Davidson [2] (4/24)... went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI at Samford (5/1)... hit safely in all four games against the Cougars as he went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and a double at College of Charleston (5/9) to help the Bulldogs come from behind to win 6-3... went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs, two stolen bases and a double vs. Furman (5/26) in the opening game of the SoCon Tournament... ended the season with at least a hit and a run in eight of the final 11 games.

2009: Played in 45 games, started in 16 in the outfield... batted .329... seventh on the team with 25 runs scored... did not record an error... third on the team with eight stolen bases out of 11 attempts... registered six multiple-hit games and two multiple-RBI games... five-game hitting streak (3/7-15)... best game came against Appalachian State (3/15) with three hits, three runs and an RBI... recorded three sacrifice flies and two sacrifice bunts... subbed in 29 games this season.

2008: Redshirted, did not play.

High School: Received letters in baseball, basketball and football... earned team MVP, All-State and team All-Star in all three sports... hit .521 senior year with six home runs and 23 steals... baseball team was SCISA AA State Champions... coached by Ben Porter.

Personal: William James Ladd, Jr.... born Dec. 8, 1988... son of Billy and Martha Ladd... majoring in business administration... cousin, George Coleman, is also on The Citadel Baseball team.
