James Bresette, a proud graduate of The Citadel Class of 2017, is the Assistant Director for Athletic Development at The Citadel Foundation since October 2024. He works with VP and Sr. Director of Athletic Development to implement a comprehensive athletics development plan. James also works with The Citadel Brigadier Foundation and the Athletic Department to execute strategic objectives and coordinates with coaching staffs from 14 varsity athletic programs on sport-specific.

James joined The Citadel Foundation in September of 2021 as the Assistant Director for Annual Giving. He led young alumni initiatives, directed the Young Alumni Council, and organized events tailored to young alumni interests. James also developed fundraising strategies for 10th reunions, leading the largest fundraising effort that raised over $230,000.

James began his career in development at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in Washington, D.C., where he coordinated student and talent management programs.
