Sam Mest joined The Citadel Athletics as Assistant Director for Marketing & Promotions on Aug. 31, 2026.
Previously, Mest worked as the Fan Engagement Assistant for the University of Georgia Athletic Association from July 2024 through June 2025, helping execute marketing plans across a variety of sports including equestrian, women's basketball, baseball and football. He also managed teams of student workers throughout numerous events while assisting with writing event scripts, managing budgets and developing promotional plans.
While attending West Virginia, Mest also worked as an Athletics Marketing Intern from August 2022 through May 2024 as well as a Student Scouting Assistant for the football program from May 2020 until June 2022.
A native of Olean, N.Y., Mest graduated with a bachelor's in sports management from West Virginia University in August 2023 before returning for a master's in sports management in August 2024.
