Tahj Mitchell joined The Citadel men’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2026.
Mitchell joins the Bulldogs after spending time at Oakland City University, where he served as a graduate assistant and developmental team head coach. During his time at OCU, he worked primarily in video and scouting, basketball operations and player development while also gaining coaching experience within the program.
Prior to Oakland City, Mitchell served as a varsity assistant coach during the summers at Dunwoody High School.
Mitchell also worked as a junior skill development trainer with EHB Basketball in Atlanta, where he assisted with individual skill development and training.
A native of Dunwoody, Georgia, Mitchell played guard at Central State University after beginning his playing career at Dunwoody High School. While at Central State, he was also involved with Athletes in Action, where he developed as a leader and built relationships with fellow student-athletes.
Mitchell earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Central State before earning his master’s degree in Strategic Management and Leadership from Oakland City University.
