Jonathan Sabo enters his second season as the volunteer assistant coach at The Citadel. In his role, Sabo works with the outfielders and assists with hitters. He also serves as the team’s first-base coach.

Sabo joined the coaching staff after playing his final two seasons for the Bulldogs. As a senior, he hit .305 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 25 RBIs He also made 12 appearances on the mound, going 1-3 with a team-high four saves.

In his first season with the Bulldogs, Sabo earned Second-Team All-Southern Conference honors at third base after hitting .299 with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs, 60 hits and 101 total bases. He added two saves in his seven appearances on the mound.

Sabo came to The Citadel after playing his first two seasons at USC-Lancaster. He played in 52 games as a sophomore, hitting .449 with 13 home runs, 49 RBIs and 69 runs scored. Sabo added 13 doubles and drew 37 walks.

He earned Second-Team All-Region X honors as a freshman after leading the region with 40 RBIs. He hit .339 with eight doubles and a .425 on-base percentage.

Sabo played his prep ball at West Ashley High where he was named the Lowcountry Player of the Year as a junior and senior. He hit .420 and went 9-2 on the mound as a senior after hitting .512 and going 8-1 as a junior.
