CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel looks to snap its 15-game losing skid against Southern Conference foe Wofford in an ESPN3 broadcast game on Saturday at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.

The Bulldogs (1-3) and Terriers (2-2) meet for the 67th time on Saturday. The Citadel holds a 40-25-1 advantage in the series, but the Upstate rival has dominated the series of late, winning the last 15 contests since the Bulldogs won 20-14 in Spartanburg in 1998.

Both teams enter the match having won big last Saturday. The Bulldogs recorded a school-record 10 sacks in a 37-14 win over Gardner-Webb at Johnson Hagood Stadium, while the Terriers beat Virginia-Wise 49-15 in Spartanburg.

Both teams have featured a dynamic rushing attack thus far in 2014 with both ranked among top five nationally in rushing yards  per game.

The Citadel sits in fourth in the FCS averaging 300 yards per game on the ground after an impressive 323-yard performance against Gardner-Webb last Saturday, while the Terriers are fifth in the nation, averaging 299 per contest.

Saturday will mark the latest the Bulldogs have opened league play since topping East Carolina 31-13 on Oct. 4, 1969. Aside from last season, the only other time The Citadel and Wofford faced off in a SoCon opener was in 1998, which is also the last time the Bulldogs beat Wofford.

The Bulldog front seven enters Saturday in second place in conference with 13 sacks on the season after setting a new school record with 10 last Saturday. That is tied for the most in one game in the FCS this year, but the most against a DI opponent. Butler posted 10 sacks against DIII's Wittenberg.

Mitchell Jeter led the way with 2.5 sacks, upping his career total to eight, while Tevin Floyd, Mark Thomas and Justin Oxendine each had two. Thomas leads all active Bulldogs with 11.5 sacks in his career, while Oxendine sits close behind with nine.

A sack fumble by Carson Smith in the third quarter, which was recovered by Joe Crochet, led to a three-yard rushing score by Miller that put the Bulldogs ahead 27-14.

Aaron Miller is coming off another huge contest last weekend as the senior signal caller rushed for 91 yards and three scores and added a career-high 186 through the air. Miller has led the team in rushing in each of the last three games and sits in third in the league, averaging 80.2 yards per game on the ground.
Senior slot back Jake Stenson continues to make of the most of his carries this season. The Jacksonville, Fla., native accumulated 77 yards on just six carries last week against Gardner-Webb, averaging 12.8 yards per attempt.

Stenson enters Saturday's game with 280 yards on just 28 carries in 2014, averaging 10 yards per carry, and is seventh in the conference in rushing.
