CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel wraps up its 2014 women's soccer regular season slate this weekend with a road trip to Samford and Chattanooga.
The Bulldogs (5-12, 1-6 Southern Conference) face Samford on Friday at 8 p.m. and Chattanooga on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Citadel will be looking to duplicate its sweep of the same trip a year ago when it defeated Samford 3-2 and Chattanooga 3-1.
Samford (10-7, 5-2 SoCon) is in third place in the SoCon with 15 points, trailing leader East Tennessee State by three points and Mercer by two. In addition to their five league wins, the Bulldogs also have a victory over Auburn and two of their losses have come to nationally-ranked South Carolina and Virginia.
Last year's win over Samford was the first for The Citadel over their rival Bulldogs in seven all-time meetings.
Chattanooga (1-14-1, 0-7) is still seeking its first SoCon win of the season heading into its match against Mercer on Friday. The Bulldogs have won four of the last five against the Mocs but still trail the series 8-4-1.
The SoCon Tournament begins next Wednesday with the four-team opening round which will be held on campus sites. The matchups will be determined following this weekend's contests.
