CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel's White team, led by third-year assistant coach
Tucker Lane, defeated the Blue team, under the direction of Undrakhbayar Khishignyam, by a score of 27-22 on Saturday at Vandiver Hall in the team's annual Blue-White wrestle-off competition.
The turning point of the afternoon came during the 141-pound match that featured Nathaniel Harper and
Aaron Hansen. Hansen, a returning starter and two-time Southern Conference placer, went to sudden victory two with Harper.
The two were scoreless in the minute long sudden victory one and traded escapes in the 30-second tiebreakers before Harper got the decisive takedown of Hansen in the second sudden victory, completing the 4-2 win.
The matches were the prelude to the start of the 2014-15 season, which begins on Nov. 1 when the Dogs host The Citadel Open at McAlister Field House.
