Charleston, S.C. - Last weekend five members of The Citadel golf team participated in the Charleston area Ronald McDonald House Big Red Shoe Walk at Hampton Park.

Bulldog head coach Lori Bonacci along with Kellie Anderson, Eraina Manor, Renata Sucha, Cameron Little and Laura Simpson were in charge of a station during the event. They had participants in the walk "march" in Citadel-style to the next station.

The event assisted the Ronald McDonald House Charities, raising money for the addition of a new kitchen along with five bedrooms and bathrooms to its 27-room house in Charleston.

Over 100 walkers participated in the event, donating $1,600 for the purchase of their own pair of big red shoes. That sum is the cost of running the house (32 rooms) for one night.

The Red Shoe Society is a young professional group that supports the mission of the Ronald McDonald House. They host fundraisers, volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, and wear red shoes.
