CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel wraps up its 2014 home schedule on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Samford in a 1 p.m. game at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
A live, free video stream is available via the
socondigitalnetwork/thecitadel, and the game can be heard throughout South Carolina on The Citadel Sports Network beginning with the tailgate show at 11 a.m.
The game is part of the Hall of Fame Weekend, with the six newest members being inducted Friday night and recognized on the field at halftime. That group consists of football player Mike Davitt, baseball players Rodney Hancock and Hank Kraft, wrestler Dan "Buddy" Thompson and a pair of honorary inductees, nationally-renowned author Pat Conroy and longtime Charleston mayor Joe Riley.
The Citadel (4-6, 2-3 SoCon) can finish the season with a winning record in the league and .500 overall with a win over Samford and next week at VMI in the battle for the coveted Silver Shako. A victory on Saturday will give the Bulldogs a three-game winning streak, their fourth of that length in the past three years.
Samford (6-3, 4-2) has won three in a row and has already clinched its fourth straight winning season under eighth-year coach and 1971 Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan.Â
The Citadel holds a 4-3 lead in the series, including a 28-26 win in Charleston last year, and is 3-1 against Samford at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
