Bulldogs Season Comes to an End

SPARTANBURG, S.C.
– The Citadel women's soccer team fell to Wofford on Wednesday evening 3-0 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With the loss in the Southern Conference Tournament, the Bulldogs season comes to an end.
 
Wofford (6-7-4, 4-4-2 SoCon) got on the board first, scoring in the 21st minute to take a 1-0 lead. That's how the score would remain heading into the halftime break.
 
The Citadel (1-19, 0-10) recorded two shots in the first half with Katherine Arroyo and Ana Da Costa netting one each. Kim Mora tallied five saves in the first 45 minutes of play.
 
The match would stay knotted until the 64th minute when the Terriers tacked on another goal off of a set shot to take a 2-0 lead. Wofford would add a late goal with 38 seconds remaining and take the 3-0 win, knocking The Citadel out of the SoCon Tournament.
 
The Bulldogs had 10 saves in the game and five shots. 10 of the 11 starters played all 90 minutes, with the only substitution coming in goal with Abby Koger took over keeper duties in the second half.
