Bulldogs Finish Rain-Soaked Race

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite difficult weather conditions, The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams completed their respective races at the Upstate Invitational in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Ross Jordan led the Bulldogs in the men's 8k race, finishing in 26:24.81. The junior was the highest finisher for both squads, placing 13th overall. Michael Lantz (27:06.54) and Jamie Cunningham (28:06.14) were the next Bulldogs to cross the finish line, taking 24th and 39th respectively.
Grace Jenkins continued her hot streak for the women's team, clocking a time of 20:10.70 in the 5k. The sophomore finished 39th out of 122 runners. Emani Little finished in 20:31.00. Jessica DeWitte finished 55th with a time of 21:31.18 while Bethany Reeves (21:16.03) crossed the finish line just three seconds later.
The Citadel will return to action on Oct. 16th when they take part in the College of Charleston Classic. The race, which was originally supposed to take place at Trophy Lakes on Johns Island, has been moved to Mullet Hall, a course on the opposite end of Johns Island. The women's race is set to begin at 4:45 p.m. followed by the men's race at 5:15.
