CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Citadel volleyball team fell to Chattanooga on Friday evening 3-1.

"I am really proud of our effort tonight," head coach
Craig Mosqueda said. "The team fought hard the entire match. Had we won the second set this would have been a different match. I think now the team knows what they are capable of and will shoot for that from here on out."

The Bulldogs put the 21-5, 10-3 Mocs on their heels in the first set when they took it 25-23.
The second set was a close affair as well but Chattanooga edged out The Citadel 25-23 to make things all even at one set apiece. UTC would crank things up heading into the next set, taking the third and fourth sets 25-16, 25-14 respectively.

Zuri Fenderson (10) led the Bulldogs in kills. Smith also had 17 digs and
Samantha Espy was close behind with 15.
Rachel Keefer led The Citadel with 39 assists.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday for an 8 p.m. Eastern Time matchup with SoCon foe Samford. The Citadel will face the fellow Bulldogs twice in less than 24 hours as they will play them again on Sunday morning at noon Eastern Time.
