Birmingham, Ala. – The Citadel women's volleyball team fell to Samford on Sunday afternoon 3-0. This was the second match up between the two teams in as many days.

"We put up a good fight today and continue to grow as a team," head coach
Craig Mosqueda said. "Our level of consistency was definitely a lot better than yesterday's contest and that showed in the scores."

The Bulldogs kept things close in all three sets, falling 25-23, 25-21, 25-20. Samford's largest margin of victory was five points.

Moriah Smith and
Bailey Kernodle both tallied eight kills in the game while
Zuri Fenderson recorded five.
Rachel Keefer led the team with 26 assists. Smith also led the team with 10 digs while Keefer tallied eight.
Samantha Espy, the single-season dig leader, added to her total with eight in the match. The Citadel averaged a .146 attack percentage in the contest.

The Bulldogs now return home to host Mercer on Friday and then travel to Wofford on Saturday for a 6 p.m. match up that will close out the regular season.
