CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams return to action on Saturday as they take part in the College of Charleston Invitational in Mt. Pleasant.
The Citadel cross country teams started the 2015 season off with a bang last week when the men's team took first place in the Carolina Challenge. Michael Lantz paced the men in the 5k race and finished in first place with a time of 16:15.04. Ross Jordan took second overall with a time of 17:00.84.
In the women's heat Grace Jenkins posted the top time for the Bulldogs, finishing in 21:59.34. Emani Little (22:05.30) and Bethany Reeves (22:06.58) took 21st and 22nd overall at last week's race.
"I'm excited about this weekend's first 8k race for the men and we will find out where we are and how far along the team is," head coach Jody Huddleston said. "The women will race 6k this weekend, a distance we don't run that often so that will be a challenge they are excited about."
Results from Saturday's race will be available upon completion of the event.
