CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team will hit the road on Friday when they take on Winthrop and then College of Charleston on Sunday.

The Bulldogs come into the weekend with momentum after earning their first win of the season on Sunday, downing Francis Marion 4-0.

Offensively,
Emilie Valenciano and
Katherine Arroyo lead the team in shots. Against Francis Marion, The Citadel registered 24 shots, the highest total this season. Arroyo leads in points, with six, after tallying her second goal and assist this past weekend. The Bulldogs have a .507 shot-on-goal percentage.

Arroyo and
Andrea Davila are tied for 10th in the SoCon with two goals this season and Valenciano is fourth in the conference in shots per game, averaging 2.80.

The Bulldogs lead the SoCon in saves with 70 and average 8.75 a game. Mercer is the next closest with 53 saves. Individually,
Abby Koger leads the league in saves with 54. Her 7.71 saves per game average is second best in the league.

Winthrop, a Big South Conference member, comes into the game with a 2-3-1 record. The Eagles are averaging one goal and 10.8 shots per game. Samantha Prytulak and JoJo Taylor lead the team in goals with two apiece. The Bulldogs and Eagles have squared off five times in previous years and have a 2-2-1 record all time.

College of Charleston, 4-3, is led by Riley Narum with three goals in 460 minutes played. The Cougars and the Bulldogs have played common opponents Fordham, Kennesaw State, Stetson and Charleston Southern. The Colonial Athletic Association member has held its opponents to seven goals this season and is averaging 14.7 shots per game. The Bulldogs and Cougars have met 12 times in the history of the program.

These two games will be the last non-conference match-ups before the Bulldogs begin Southern Conference play on Sept. 26 at Mercer. Kick off on Friday in Rock Hill is set for 6 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. start on Sunday in Mt. Pleasant. Live stats will be available at CitadelSports.com.
