CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team will travel to Macon, Georgia, on Saturday to take on Mercer for the first SoCon matchup of the season. The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m.
The Bulldogs head into this weekend after dropping two this past weekend.
Katherine Arroyo leads the team with six points, two goals and two assists. The freshman is followed closely by
Andrea Davila who has four points this season after tallying two goals.
Freshman
Emilie Valenciano leads the team with 19 shots, 13 of which were on goal. Defender
Sam Waarum has played the entirety of all 10 games this season, a total of 882 minutes.
The Bulldogs have tried multiple looks in the net this season with
Abby Koger getting the majority of the time in between the posts, playing seven games. Koger is currently tied atop the SoCon for saves with 54.
Sam Millspaugh and
Kim Mora have both started two games this season and have 29 saves between them.
Mercer comes into Saturday's game with a 3-4-2 record with six of their first nine games being played at home. The Bears are averaging 10.8 shots per game with a .381 shot-on-goal percentage. Mercer is led by Jamilah Tejan who has seven points and three goals this season.
The Citadel has a 0-1 all-time record against the Bears with the first match-up coming last season.
