Game Notes: vs. Chattanooga

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The 8th-ranked Citadel football team hosts No. 5 Chattanooga in the first top-10 matchup in Johnson Hagood Stadium since 1992 and the final regular-season meeting of undefeated teams in FCS this season. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast on FOX Sports Southeast in addition to other regional FOX Sports networks. • The Citadel is one of five remaining undefeated teams in FCS.
• The Citadel is 5-0 for the 2nd time in program history and 1st since 1992.
• Brent Thompson has broken The Citadel's record for most wins to start a career, surpassing Ralph Foster who won his first four games in 1906-07.
• The Citadel has started 3-0 in the Southern Conference in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history and is 3-0 in the SoCon for the 7th time overall.
• Brent Thompson is the second head coach in The Citadel history to win his first three Southern Conference games and first since Eddie Teague in 1957.
• The Bulldogs have been ranked for 12 straight weeks, the 2nd-longest streak in program history trailing a 15-week stretch in 1992-93.
• The Citadel is ranked in the top 10 for the fourth straight week, their longest stretch inside the top 10 since spending 12 weeks in the top 10, including four at No. 1, in 1992.
• The Bulldogs are 26-17 all-time when ranked, including 23-14 against FCS opponents, and 11-4 when ranked in the top 10.
• The Citadel has rushed for 500 yards in back-to-back games for the first time in school history. At North Greenville the Bulldogs totaled 559 yards on the ground one week after rushing for 513 yards at Western Carolina.
• In the last three games, the Bulldogs averaged 497.0 rushing yards per game.
• The Citadel's 559 rushing yards at North Greenville are the most in a game by an FCS team this season. The Bulldogs have three of the top-9 rushing totals in FCS this season with their 513 yards at Western Carolina ranking 4th and 419 yards at Gardner-Webb ranking 9th.
• The Citadel broke single-game records for total offense plays in regulation (94) and rushing plays (84) in the 37-14 win at Western Carolina.
• The Citadel's 8.0 sacks at Western Carolina are the most by a Southern Conference team this season and tied for the most in FCS.
• The Bulldogs held Western Carolina to 0-for-8 on 3rd-down conversions.
• The Citadel ranks 1st in FCS in rushing, averaging 388.8 yards per game.
• The Bulldogs' turnover margin of +6 is tied for 1st in the Southern Conference and for 9th in FCS. Since the beginning of the 2015 season, The Citadel has forced 41 turnovers for an average of 2.3 per game.
• The Citadel is the only FCS team that has not allowed a sack this season. The Bulldogs are ranked 1st in the SoCon and 3rd in FCS with an average of 3.00 tackles for loss allowed per game.
• The Bulldogs have only allowed 14 points in the 4th quarter this season, the lowest total in the Southern Conference.
