• The Citadel is this year's No. 6 seed, earning a national seed for the first time under the current playoff format and the second time in program history.
• The Citadel earned its second straight Southern Conference championship and the conference's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs, marking the first time in program history with back-to-back conference titles and the first time the Bulldogs are making consecutive playoff appearances.
• Three Bulldogs earned SoCon individual awards as
Brent Thompson was voted Coach of the Year by the coaches and media,
Kailik Williams was the media's Defensive Player of the Year and
Isaiah Pinson won the Jacobs Blocking Award voted on by the coaches.
• The Citadel tied the Southern Conference record with eight wins, a feat accomplished only six times before, and finished unbeaten in conference play for the first time in program history.
• The Bulldogs won their first 10 games, surpassing the 1992 team's 6-0 start to register the best start to a season in program history.
• The Citadel broke the program record for most consecutive wins, bettering the eight-game winning streak from 1991-92.

Brent Thompson has broken The Citadel's record for most wins by a first-year head coach and is one victory behind the single-season program record.

Brent Thompson is the fifth different head coach and second first-year coach to win eight SoCon games in one season.
• The Citadel has been ranked for 18 straight weeks, the longest streak in program history.
• The Citadel is ranked in the top 10 for the 10th straight week, its longest stretch inside the top 10 since 12 weeks, including four at No. 1, in 1992.
• The Bulldogs are 31-18 all-time when ranked, including 29-14 against FCS opponents, and 16-5 when ranked in the top 10.
• The Bulldogs are 1st in FCS in rushing, averaging 358.5 yards per game.
• The Bulldogs rushed for 500 yards in back-to-back games for the first time in school history, totaling 559 yards at North Greenville one week after rushing for 513 yards at Western Carolina.
• The Bulldogs have five of the top-19 rushing totals in FCS this season with their 559 yards at North Greenville ranking 2nd, 513 yards at Western Carolina ranking 6th, 463 yards vs. Samford tied for 9th, 427 yards vs. ETSU ranking 16th and 419 yards at Gardner-Webb ranking 19th.
• The Citadel's 8.0 sacks at Western Carolina are the most by a Southern Conference team this season and tied for 2nd-highest in a game in FCS.
• The Bulldogs have held four opponents to under .167 on 3rd-down, including holding Western Carolina to 0-for-8 and North Carolina to 1-for-8.
• The Bulldogs have only allowed 36 points in the 4th quarter this season, the lowest total in the Southern Conference.
