FULLERTON, Calif. – The Bulldogs were defeated in both matches on Saturday, falling to Weber State in three sets and Air Force in four at the Fullerton Classic.

Defensive specialist Gracie Barnes was selected to the all-tournament team. The junior had a perfect 1.00 reception percentage on 33 total attempts. She had 12 digs in 12 sets and two assists.

In the first match of the day against undefeated Weber State, the Bulldogs began with a back-and-forth first set, needing extra points to settle the contest. The Bulldogs had the first opportunity to close it out, leading 24-23 with the first set point. Weber State took three of the final points, however, claiming the set 27-25.

The Wildcats picked up their play even more in the second and third sets, hitting .478 and .345, respectively. They also held the Bulldogs to a .093 hitting percentage for the match.

Middle hitter Dominique Williams finished with seven kills on a .500 hitting percentage to lead the Bulldogs. Outside hitter Moriah Smith put up double-digit kills with 11 for the 10th straight match to start the season. Setter Logan Smith led the team with 30 assists.

In the final match of the tournament for the Bulldogs, they fell to Air Force in four sets 16-25, 16-25, 25-20 and 10-25.

Williams finished with another strong hitting match, recording six kills and a .417 hitting percentage to lead the team. Moriah Smith had a team high 13 kills, adding seven digs.

Defensively, Espy led the team with 15 digs. Logan Smith added 19 assists. The Bulldogs were held to .096 hitting for the match.

In the Bulldogs third set win, they hit .286 while holding Air Force to .156 from the field. Moriah Smith had her best set of the match, recording six kills and a .600 hitting percentage. The Bulldogs had two of their three blocks for the match in the third set.

The Bulldogs dropped to 4-7 on the season with the losses. They return home for the Bulldog Invitation on Friday and Saturday. Four teams will join the Bulldogs in McAllister Field house including Austin Peay, Elon, Savannah State and Charleston Southern.
