The Citadel Continues Homestand

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team continues its five-game homestand this weekend as Vermont and Jacksonville State come to town for non-conference action.

"We are excited to have two home games this weekend," head coach Ciaran Traquair said. "I think we have a great opportunity to get back to winning ways if we can maintain the same work rate and intensity from this past weekend. The girls are now in full stride and are hungry for more success. We are well prepared and ready to go."

The Bulldogs are 2-1 at home this season after topping UNC Asheville and LIU Brooklyn earlier in the season and have allowed just one goal defensively in three games at W.L.I. Field.

This will be the first time the Bulldogs have faced Vermont, a member of the America East conference, who are currently 3-2-1 this season.

Sunday will be the third meeting between The Citadel and Jacksonville State with the Bulldogs leading the overall series 2-0. The last time the Gamecocks came to Charleston in 2013, The Citadel took the contest 3-1 with Mariana Garcia tallying all three goals. The only other meeting between the two schools came in 2007 when the Bulldogs took a 1-0 victory.

Friday's match against the Catamounts is slated to begin at 3 p.m. and Sunday's contest will kick off at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available for both games and, weather permitting, both games will be streamed at CitadelSports.com.
