CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team (1-7, 0-2 SoCon) dropped its match to Gardner-Webb's Runnin' Bulldogs (5-3, 2-1) in McAlister Field House on Saturday 31-13.
 

Freshman Douglas Gudenburr in the 141-pound weight class grabbed his 15th win of the season with a 7-4 decision over the Runnin' Bulldogs' Ryan Hull. Ty Buckiso at 149 pounds and Aaron Walker at 157 pounds followed with a 5-1 decision for Buckiso and a 4-3 decision for Walker, respectively. Buckiso now has 15 victories on the season and Walker leads with a team-high 17 victories.
 

Sophomore Sawyer Root dominated Payton Mills for the Runnin' Bulldogs in the 197-lb. weight class with a 10-2 major decision. Root's win over Mills gives him a total of 13 victories this season.
 

On Friday the Bulldogs will head to Lexington, Virginia, for their third conference matchup against VMI. Live stats for the match will be available at CitadelSports.com.
