Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team faced off against Illinois State and North Carolina Central on Tuesday at the Earle Tennis Center.

Sophomore
Trey Davis was the lone winner for the Bulldogs at the No. 6 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2 over Illinois State's Peter Foersom. The Red Birds went on to claim the remaining matches in the singles competition and did not play doubles due to time constraints. The Bulldogs fell 5-1.

The Bulldogs had a hot start in the second match against the Eagles in the doubles competition. Sophomore

Willem van Zyl won at the No. 1 position with a score of 6-4. Senior
Connor Grady and freshman
Noah Nawabi also won for the Bulldogs at the No. 3 spot with a score of 6-3.

In the singles competition, Nawabi defeated Brooks Campbell at the No. 4 position with a score of 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore
Roy Hobson also won at the No. 6 spot over Pablo Juez Torres 6-3, 6-4. The Bulldogs eventually fell to the Eagles 4-3.

Next, the Bulldogs will compete against Chattanooga and UT Dallas on Wednesday. The first match against the Mocs is set for 1 p.m. with the match against the Comets scheduled for 6 p.m. Results for both matches will be available at CitadelSports.com.
