NINETY-SIX, S.C. – The Citadel Bulldogs posted a victory against Charleston Southern in match play action Monday and Tuesday as they participated in the Blue Hose Match Play. The Bulldogs took fifth place in the field of eight, beating out Longwood, Charleston Southern and UNC Asheville.

Round One Against USC Upstate

• In the first match up, the Bulldogs were edged out by USC Upstate by a score of 3.5 to 1.5 with Sarah Smith picking up the full point victory over Kathryn Elliott by a score of 3&2.
• Mackenzie Battle halved her match against the Spartans, Brooke Hutto to give the Bulldogs an additional half point,.

Round Two Against Charleston Southern

• Nadia Sandler captured a point for the Bulldogs at No. 1 in the second round, winning 5&4, the best finish of the season for The Citadel.
• Freshman, Erin Buckman picked up her first match win as a Bulldog defeating Sydney Merchant by a score of 3&2.
• Battle picked up her second victory of the day defeating Daniela Intriago by two holes.
• The Citadel won the match against Charleston Southern by a final score of 3-2. 

Round Three Against Longwood

• The Bulldogs nabbed a 1-up win from sophomore Ashlee Richardson playing at the No. 4 spot in the final match up of the tournament against Longwood.
• Sarah Smith picked up a victory finishing 3&2 over the Lancers.
• The Bulldogs dropped the match 3-2.

The Citadel will return to action on Monday, October 29 as the Bulldogs take on Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
