No. 9 Bulldogs Bow Out of SoCon Tournament with 1-0 Loss at No. 1 Samford

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 9 seed Citadel women's soccer team gave it a strong effort Saturday night against top-seeded Samford, holding the homestanding Bulldogs to a 0-0 draw through one half of play. However, Samford was able to escape with a 1-0 win with a goal in the 49th minute to advance to the semifinal round of the 2018 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship.

  • Brahmbhatt's 78 saves this season are the 11th most in a single season.
  • Brahmbhatt's 1.98 goals against average on the year is the seventh-best single season GAA for a Citadel keeper and her 34 goals allowed are tied for 12th fewest.
  • Dix ended the year with seven goals scored and 17 points. Dix and Kessy Bradshaw's seven goals scored are tied for 10th most in a single season. Dix's 17 points are tied for 12th most, while Bradshaw's 16 points are the 15th most for a player in a single season.
  • Seven different Bulldogs, including Dix, Bradshaw, Katherine Arroyo, Hannah Roth, Mikoy, Nyhart and Maria Contreras all scored multiple goals on the year.
