Little Leads Bulldogs to Eighth-Place Finish

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Citadel golf team wrapped up play at the 2018 Southern Conference Championships at Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina in eighth place. The conclusion of the three-round tournament marked the end of the 2017-18 campaign for the Bulldogs.

Head coach Lori Bonacci's group carded a 1039 over the three rounds. The Citadel wrapped the tournament up on a high note with its best 18 holes of the tournament as a team, firing a 340 in the final round.

Senior Cameron Little finished her career with a team-best score of 78 on the final 18. Little shot a three-round 248 to post a team-high score at the SoCon Championship. Little ended with a career-scoring average of 82.68 over four years and averaged an 81.84 18-hole average as a senior.

Sophomore Andrea Hoos also finished strong for the Bulldogs, posting a personal-best score of 82 in the final round. Hoos bested her previous day score by nearly 15 strokes and recorded a birdy on the first hole of the day.

Furman claimed its fourth straight crown, shooting 33 over par to pace the field. Individually, Reona Hirai of Furman took the title ahead of fellow Paladin, Natalie Srinivasan by four strokes.

The Citadel will return five cadet-athletes and welcome a trio of freshmen, Sara Smith, Erin Buckman and Mackenzie Battle when the 2018-19 campaign begins.
