Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll Selections
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel was represented by 163 cadet-athletes on the 2017-18 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll announced Tuesday.
The Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes at member institutions who achieve at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the academic year while being a member of the final squad list during their sport's traditional season. Recipients must have been eligible to compete throughout the entire academic year.

In addition to being on the team, 34 Bulldogs earned the Commissioner's Medal for completing the academic year with a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher.
Twelve Bulldogs earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the 2017-18 academic year. The football team led the way with three perfect grade-point averages, a mark earned by Carl Cunningham, Jr., Gage Russell and Matthew Taylor.
Other cadet-athletes with a 4.0 GPA include William Kinney (baseball), Matt Frierson (men's basketball), Charles Braddock (men's cross country), Luke Vettel (men's track and field), Colton Poole (rifle), Gracie Barnes (volleyball), Moriah Smith (volleyball), Ty'Rhonza Harris (women's track and field) and Mady Riegel (women's track and field).
