Bulldog Volleyball Shatters Records in Win Over Bethune-Cookman

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Citadel volleyball team beat Bethune-Cookman in a five-match thriller to open the FAU Invitational.

How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs were neck and neck with Bethune-Cookman, but were unable to take away a victory in the first two sets. 
  • The Citadel went on to win three-consecutive sets behind the offensive firepower of Sharlissa De Jesus. De Jesus recorded a new personal record with 25 kills to go with eight digs.
  • Megan Fuhr recorded a career-high 62 assists in the win, notching her name fourth in program history. 
  • Mellanie King provided a new personal record with 18 kills and three services aces. Sumerlyn Carruthers and Sarah Dobrich each tallied double-digit kills while freshman Maya Elassal recorded seven kills for a .462 hitting percentage.
