CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Bulldogs opened the 2019-20 season by hosting the Battle At The Citadel and finishing the open tournament fourth.
This weekend's tournament brought seven different schools to McAlister Field House including the Bulldogs, Stanford, Duke, American, Old Dominion, N.C. State, and Presbyterian.
Five different Bulldogs finished within the top 10 for their weight class at the conclusion of today's tournament.
Senior
Michael McAleavey took home second place through three bouts, winning 3-1 in his first two matches. The Venetia, PA native dropped the championship matchup up to American's Niko Camacho.
Dazjon Casto snagged third place for The Citadel after four different bouts, taking down opponents from American, Old Dominion, and N.C. State.
Freshman
Jake Dado made his Citadel debut today, taking home fourth place in the 141-pound weight class. Through five bouts with two different wins against opponents from Duke.
The Citadel is back in action Nov. 10 as they travel, once again, to the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in Troy, N.Y.
