CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team returns home this Wednesday to take on Southern Conference opponent Davidson before hitting the road to Lexington, Virginia to compete in their final SoCon dual of the season.
In their last outing, the Bulldogs dropped their dual against SoCon Champions Appalachian State. Sawyer Root and Rian Burris were the lone Bulldogs to pick up victories in the match.
Root
, is currently ranked No. 25 nationally and holds a 31-13 record while remaining undefeated in SoCon competition.
Dual vs. Davidson
The Wildcats are currently 2-10 overall and have yet to pick up a win in their conference matches. The team is coming off a loss to App. State by a final score of 0-43.
The dual against Davidson is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in McAlister Field House.

Dual vs. VMI
Following the dual against Davidson, the Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround and travel north to take on the VMI Keydets. The Keydets are currently 3-12 overall and have a pair of SoCon wins over Davidson and Gardner-Webb. VMI broke an 11-year losing streak against the Bulldogs last year after taking a 24-21 victory in Charleston.
