BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Citadel volleyball team went 1-1 on the first day of the first day of the Comfort Inn Fuquay Invitational. The Bulldogs started the day with a 3-1 loss to North Dakota, followed by a 3-0 victory over South Carolina State.

- North Dakota registered a .215 hitting percentage to the 'Dogs .112.
- Two Bulldogs notched double-digit kills and digs. Mellanie King put up 16 kills with 14 digs and Sharlissa De Jesus registered 14 kills with 18 digs.
- The Citadel rounded out the match with 32 hitting errors to North Dakota's 14.

- The 'Dogs notched double-digit kills in all three sets with single-digit errors.
- The Citadel's offense boasted a .229 hitting percentage to South Carolina State's .043.
- The Citadel held the Bulldogs of South Carolina State to under 20 points in all three sets.
