
Cross Country Teams Compete at SoCon Championships

MACON, Ga. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams closed out the fall season at the 2020 Southern Conference Cross Country championships Saturday morning at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Georgia.
The women's team finished in ninth place, while the men's team finished eighth.

MACON, Ga. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams closed out the fall season at the 2020 Southern Conference Cross Country championships Saturday morning at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course in Macon, Georgia.
The women's team finished in ninth place, while the men's team finished eighth.
Women's Race
- Heidi Fortin once again led the women's team as she finished 30th with a time of 19:40.14. The time was her second fastest of the season.
- Grace Wolfe finished in 45th place with a season-best time of 20:29.47. It bested her previous season-best by 25.18.
- Casey Miller ran a season-best time of 20:36.56. It was more than 30 seconds faster than her previous best time this season.
- Gabby Shea was the fourth finisher for the Bulldogs, finishing with a time of 21:56.68.
- Amber Opp rounded out the scoring with a time of 22:42.38.
Men's Race
- Will Ray paced the men's team with a 27th place finish in a time of 26:55.96.
- The performance earned Ray a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman Team.
- Ty Duben ran a time of 27:27.04 to finish in 39th place.
- Andrew Smith just edge out teammate Devon Heisler to be the third finisher for the Bulldogs. Smith finished in a time of 28:10.17, while Heisler ran a 28:10.56.
- Robert Perrecone rounded out the scoring with a time of 28:23.89.
