ASHEVILLE, N.C. – As time expired Friday night on The Citadel basketball team's season, freshman
Fletcher Abee put up a 3-pointer that touched nothing but the bottom of the net. Abee's game-high fourth made 3-pointer gave him 80 for the year, setting the program freshman record for 3-pointers made in a season.
While Abee's career is just getting started, two Bulldogs played in their final collegiate game as
Kaelon Harris and
Tyson Batiste led the No. 10 seeded Bulldogs in a 93-76 loss to No. 7 seed Wofford in the opening round of the 2020 Ingles Southern Conference Basketball Championships presented by General Shale.

KEY STATS
- Freshman Rudy Fitzgibbons, III opened the game with a 3-pointer after Derek Webster, Jr. stole the ball away from Chevez Goodwin.
- The Bulldogs led for the first 2:30 and then maintained the lead again after Abee hit his first trey of the game. The trey tied Abee for second in program history for 3-pointers made by a freshman.
- After Storm Murphy gave Wofford a two-point lead, 13-11, with a 3-pointer, Harris tied the game with a layup. However, Wofford went on a 5-0 spurt to take the lead back for good.
- With 9:24 left in the first half, Batiste scored a jumper in the paint, but it was the Bulldogs' last points for nearly five minutes as Wofford went on a 10-0 run to open up a 15-point, 34-19 lead.
- Stephen Clark and Messiah Jones traded dunks in the closing seconds of the first half, with Wofford taking a 51-32 lead into the intermission.
- Wofford opened the second half by stretching the lead out to 23 three times, including nearly two minutes in when Goodwin hit a pair of free throws.
- The Citadel responded with an 8-0 run to cut into the lead, 61-49.
- With 13:18 left in regulation, the deficit was 13, 64-51 when Batiste scored on a layup. The Bulldogs managed to keep the deficit to around 13 for the next six minutes of action, including when Harris scored off a jumper in the paint with 7:06 left in the game.
- Wofford was able to put the game out of reach by extending the lead back out to as many as 21, 88-67 with 4:24 left.
- The Bulldogs ended the game shooting 41.1% (23-of-56) from the field, including 50.0% (13-of-26) in the second half.
- In comparison, the Terriers shot 56.5^ (35-of-62) for the game, including 61.3% (19-of-31) in the opening stanza.
- Wofford converted 16 3-pointers compared to 10 by the Bulldogs.
- Both teams shot well from the free throw line with Wofford converting 87.5% (7-of-8) of their free throws. The Bulldogs converted 80.0% (20-of-25) of their free throws.
- Harris led all players with 22 points, including going 9-for-10 from the free throw line. Harris added five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in his 34 minutes of work.
- Abee ended his night with 16 points, including the game-high four made 3-pointers. Abee went 4-for-4 from the charity stripe and added a block.
- Fitzgibbons scored 13 points, including making a trio of 3-pointers, while Batiste closed out the double-digit scoring for the 'Dogs with 11 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists.
- Nathan Hoover led five Terriers in double-figure scoring with 17 points in 28 minutes of work.

- Harris ended his career with 952 points, a mark that leaves him 38th in program history.
- Harris ended his career with 357 career defensive rebounds. Harris is 10th in program history for defensive boards, while his 149 defensive rebounds during the 2019-20 campaign are tied for third in program history.
- Harris ended his career with 517, just five shy of cracking the top 15 in program history for total rebounds.
- Batiste ended his one season in Charleston with 157 assists, a mark that has him fourth in program history.
- Batiste's 1.91 assist-to-turnover ratio are is tied for 11th in program history.
- Abee ended his first collegiate season with 365 points, fourth in program history for points scored by a freshman.
- Abee converted 80 3-pointers this season, eclipsing the previous mark of 79 set by Austin Dahn's 2007-08 season.
- The 80 made 3-pointers also rank sixth overall for made treys in a single season.
- Abee is tied for fifth in program history with 34 steals as a freshman.
- Abee's 30 starts as a freshman are tied for third most by a freshman.
- Abee's 120 made field goals rank eighth in freshman program history.
- Abee ended the season averaging 12.2 points per game, the fifth-highest scoring average by a freshman in program history.
- Abee's 2.1 assist-to-turnover ratio ranks third in freshman program history.
- Brady Spence ended his first season with 21 blocks, ninth in program history.
- Stephen Clark swatted away 16 shots in his first season at The Citadel, a mark that has him tied for 12th for freshman blocked shots.
