SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel was represented by 210 cadet student-athletes on the 2019-20 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll announced Thursday.

Football led the way with 67Â SoCon Honor Roll honorees, with men's track and field earning 23. The baseball team had 22Â honorees, women's soccer logged 21, and men's tennis, volleyball and mixed rifle had 13.
The Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll consists of student-athletes at member institutions who achieve at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the academic year while being a member of the final squad list during their sport's traditional season. Recipients must have been eligible to compete throughout the entire academic year.

In addition to earning Honor Roll plaudits, 63 Bulldogs earned the Commissioner's Medal for completing the academic year with a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher. Last year, 46 Bulldogs earned the honor.

Twenty-three Bulldogs earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the 2019-20 academic year, up from 14 last year. Women's soccer and men's track and field led the way with four each, including
Hannah Dion,
Logan Dix,
Mel Mikoy and
Maddie Somogyi from soccer, and
Sam Blumer,
Brent Forrest,
Evan McDonald and
Luke Vettel for track and field.

Baseball, men's basketball and men's tennis each had three Bulldogs earn a 4.0 for the year. Baseball's list included
Shane Connolly,
Tyler Corbitt and
Brandon Mulier.
Fletcher Abee,
Jackson Gammons and
Brady Spence all posted 4.0 GPAs for basketball. Tennis was represented by
Will Graham,
Noah Nawabi and
Josh Wallen.

Other Bulldogs to post perfect 4.0 GPAs for the year included
Max Brabston and
Victoria Krone from the rifle teams,
Andy Davis and
Eric Vettel of football,
Hayley Dettenmayer of women's golf, and
Ty Duben of men's cross country/track and field.
